(October 31, 2005) Juried prizewinners were announced yesterday for the 2005 Bethel Film Festival. The six winning films are:
Best Documentary, SHAKESPEARE BEHIND BARS, Hank Rogerson, Director
Best Feature, NOVEM, Brad Kimmel, Director
Best World Cinema, NEITHER MILK, NOR YOGURT, Arti Jain, Director
Best Animation, FLYAWAY, Danny Oakley, Director
Best Short, LIFT, Hugues Dalton and Jeff Garton, Directors
Best Student Film, I KILLED ZOE DAY, Powell Weaver, Director

The winners were announced during an awards brunch, held at Two Steps Downtown Grille in Danbury, which was attended by filmmakers, jurors, the media, organizers and guests.

In addition to receiving top honors in their respective categories, winning directors were awarded airline passes from sponsor Independence Air, assorted gifts from sponsor Crabtree & Evelyn and a year’s subscription to IndieTalk.com, another festival sponsor.

UPDATE: Our viewer ballots have been tabulated and the winner of the 2005 Bethel Film Festival Audience Choice Award is director Mark Becker for his documentary ROMANTICO. Congratulations, Mark!
